IHS Design is a Kelowna-based residential design practice working in the Okanagan and on projects in other parts of Canada. We design homes and residential projects with careful attention to site, daily life, building performance, and the many decisions that shape how a project comes together.

Every project begins with its own conditions: the site, the terrain, the neighbourhood, the existing building, the budget, and the way the home will be lived in. Our role is to work through those realities thoughtfully and shape them into a design that feels coherent, buildable, and lasting.
We work on custom homes, renovations, additions, and infill housing. Our projects are developed in 3D, and we see design, performance, and coordination as connected parts of the same process rather than separate concerns added later.

We approach residential design as more than the production of drawings. Good work requires careful design development and attention to the practical realities that shape how a home will be built and lived in.
Our projects are developed in 3D, which helps clients understand the design clearly and allows site, terrain, form, and interior space to be studied with care as the work develops. We also see the performance of the home as part of good design. Comfort, durability, constructability, and coordination with other professionals are part of the process from the beginning.
We maintain an ongoing interest in building science, evolving construction methods, and the long-term performance of the home. That interest informs the work quietly and practically as the design moves forward.
